The Faculty of Medicine of Bost University has started its academic activities in 1393. The Faculty of Medicine currently has 880 students from the first semester to the internship period, 667 male and 213 female, as well as teaching and practical work of these students is carried out by 50 specialist masters and bachelor lecturers.
The medical faculty has three active, paraclinic, internal and surgical departments. There are physiology, physics, chemistry, biochemistry and histopathology laboratories, computer labs and equipped staff hospitals for the practical work of paraclinic and clinic period students.
There is a well-equipped cadre hospital for the practical work and internship of clinical students in General admissions, general surgery, orthopedics, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), Dermatology, Pediatrics, Neuro-Psychiatry, Obstetrics, and Gynecology.
The hospital has a well-equipped medical laboratory, blood bank, sonography, radiography, well-equipped operating room and physiotherapy for better diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In these departments, 15 specialists in the field of patient treatment and 12 people in the field of nursing and laboratory provide all services to all the people of the country free of cost including operation and bed and also the hospital has 24 hours ambulance service.
The Faculty of Medicine of Bost University aims to become a leading medical faculty in the Southwest and the country in the near future by providing medical scientific research and leading medical cadres based on contemporary medical scientific research standards.
The Faculty of Medicine of Bost University has provided modern and standard medical teaching and practical facilities to the society and has provided talented graduates and standard scientific research equipped with theoretical and practical skills in accordance with the demands of the age to become a real source of service to the society.
A Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMedSci, BMedSc, BSc(Med), BMSc) is an undergraduate academic degree involving study of a variety of disciplines related to human health leading to an in depth understanding of human biology and associated research skills such as study design, statistics and laboratory techniques.
